If you have a passion for leadership and the stewardship of IAAP's leadership culture, along with the ability to assess competencies and make critical decisions, then becoming a part of the Governance and Leadership Committee (GLC) may be a great fit for you. As a GLC member, you are responsible for upholding IAAP's leadership culture and ensuring the future of IAAP and the IAAP Foundation.

Purpose and Work

A standing committee of the IAAP & Foundation Boards of Directors tasked with assessing IAAP volunteer leadership applicants to ensure all candidates are eligible and competent for the level of service desired and are in alignment with IAAP's Leadership Profile.

• Critically assess candidate applications and additional inputs where applicable to determine eligibility for IAAP leadership positions

• Provide a slate of eligible candidates for election(s) and/or recommend a slate of eligible candidates for appointment based upon the requirements of the specific IAAP leadership position

• Identify and engage a qualified and diverse group of potential IAAP leadership candidates

• Help identify developmental and leadership gaps within IAAP

• Uphold and steward the IAAP Leadership Profile and culture

Time Required:  2-4 hours per month

Term Length: Two (2) years (Governance Year runs July-June)
